Specimen Requirements


This test is available only for transfusion in hospital setting.

If patients blood type is not available from current admission, order TRH Type and Rh, Whole Blood.

Forms: Blood Bank Order Form (Graphics Arts Department Form #110-009-RF0505-A) in Request Forms in Special Instructions

Include number of units required, diagnosis, date of transfusion or surgery, and ordering physician’s name.

Reference Values

ABO/Rh-compatible product may be given out during emergency or blood shortage situations. See Blood Product Compatibility Chart in Special Instructions for allowed substitutions.
