Methodology

Chemical and Microscopic Evaluation

Includes color, clarity, glucose, bilirubin, ketones, specific gravity, blood, pH, protein, urobilinogen, nitrite, and leukocyte esterase.

If hemoglobin, leukocyte esterase, nitrites, or protein are positive, then microscopic evaluation will be performed.

Specimen Type: Urine
Container/Tube: Collection cup
Specimen Volume: Entire collection
Collection Instructions:
1. Collect a random urine specimen.
2. Transfer to Routine Urnie Analysis vacutainer tube.
