Hemagglutination/Charcoal Flocculation and Agglutination

Includes ABO and Rh type, antibody screen, and rapid plasma reagin (RPR).

Specimen Requirements

A lavender top (EDTA) and red top tube are required.

Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)

Specimen Volume: Full tube

Collection Instructions:

1. Hospital patient specimen must be labeled with:

a. Patient’s full name

b. Medical record number

c. Phlebotomist number

d. Date and time of draw

2. Physician office specimen must be labeled with:

a. Patient’s full name

b. Patient’s date of birth or Social Security number

c. Phlebotomist name

d. Date and time of draw

 

Red Top Tube
